One of the small nuances that makes Little People Big World so great is the whimsical music which helps set the mood for different plots and settings. I had originally thought the music was composed by some TLC person who did that sort of thing. It turns out, the man behind the music is Joey Newman, a composer who has done work for films, television, and even video games.
Joey has a number of the show songs available for listening to at his online portfolio. Just go to his site, then click “Media” on the left side of the page, then scroll all the way to the bottom to listen to his Little People Big World tracks.
It was especially fun to listen to the main theme song, and read the lines from Matt & Amy inside my head while it played.

Over on the mattroloff.com forums, one of the fans dug up this video. It is the original trailer TLC ran for Little People Big World in select movie theaters in late 2004 and early 2005. The kids, and the farm, have changed a lot in the years since the shows’ debut.

Over on facebook, there are a few Little People Big World groups. I am a member of a couple of them, and came across a pretty hilarious discussion by one of the groups today where some people came up with an idea for a drinking game to play while watching the show.
I’ve never really thought of LPBW as the type of show to drink to, but some of these are pretty funny. I think most people would be completely hammered by the end of the show with these rules.
-everytime Matt is driving a machine, 1 drink
-if one of Jeremys friends pick up Zach, 2 drinks
-everytime Amy gets mad, one drink
-if Matt falls off(stool, machine, anything) finish your beer
-everytime molly hits Jacob, 1 drink
-if Matt is wearing a red sweater DRINK
-if they play soccer, take a sip
-if someone goes into a hospital, 2 drinks
-for every friend Jeremy has over, take a drink for each one
-everytime Zach rides his bike, drink
-any fight between any little people, 1 drink
-anytime Zach plays xbox drink for as long as he’s playing
-drink every time you think Jeremy and his girlfriend get it on after the cameras turn off
-everytime Zach smiles, 3 drinks.
-everytime Jeremy hugs his mom, 2 drinks.
-everytime Zach drives a car, finish your beer.
-everytime Amy tries and fails to wake Jeremy up in the morning, 2 drinks
-if Jeremy breaks something, 1 drink
-if Amy says she’s disappointed in Jeremy or yells at him, 2 drinks
-if Jeremy breaks something, 2 drinks
-if Jeremy is talking on his cell, 1 drink
-if Jeremy’s pants fall down, 1 drink
-if Jeremy can’t find his pants, 2 drinks
-if Jeremy or Zach are drinking mountain dew, 1 drink
-if Jeremy does something stupid like run on the roof, 2 drinks
-if Jeremy tells Jacob to get lost or Jacob talks about Jeremy telling him to get lost, 1 drink
-everytime Marty taunts or harasses Zach, 1 drink
-any scene that shows Zach with his mouth hanging half open, take a sip
What about you? Got any additions for the Little People Big World drinking game? Feel free to post any new ideas in the comments below.

Always wanted to see the farm in person and take a tour? Well, we can’t all make it out to Oregon to see the farm, but thanks to Google Earth, you can take a self-guided tour.
You can drag the view around and get a birds eye view of not only the farm, but the surrounding landscape. It’s a lot of fun to zoom out and see where the farm is in perspective to the city.

Yes, you read that headline correct. For $8.00 + shipping, you can own a small piece of Roloff Farms. Just fill out the order form, and they will send you a jar full of dirt. But not just any old jar of dirt - just look at a few of the possible uses, as listed on the jar’s packaging:
• Use sparingly as an extra treat for your indoor house plants.
• Sprinkle some in your yard to inspire it with a little “country attitude”.
• Put some in the kitty box. Excellent for cats who don’t get outdoors.
• Rub some on your clothes for that “I just worked in the garden” feeling.
• Make a mud pie, “YUM!”
• Great gift idea for city folk.
Matt has always seemed like a great salesman on the show, but this just seals the deal. If he can convince people to pay money for dirt … well, that speaks for itself. I guess it’s kind of a neat souvenir if you’re a big fan of the show, but I wish the Roloffs would sign each jar or something.
