Roloffs Of The Caribbean

Kevin November 26th, 2007

I’m not sure if we’re going to see any pirates on tonights’ episode, but the Roloffs are going to be visiting the Caribbean for another family vacation. Yes, life is good when you have a major TV network to help pay for trips to exotic places.

Below is a gallery of the Roloffs on their trip. I must say, Molly is looking rather festive in these pics, and it’s great to see that the boys found a group to play soccer with, even on their vacation!

Matt’s Trial Date Set For December 5th

Kevin November 12th, 2007

Fox12 in Oregon reported Friday that Matt’s DUI trial has been set for December 5th. Matt was pulled over last June, and later cited after failing a sobriety test.

HILLSBORO, Ore. — A trial date has been set for television star Matt Roloff, who is accused of driving under the influence.

Roloff stars in “Little People, Big World,” a reality television show on The Learning Channel that focuses on the lives of Roloff, his wife and his son, all of whom are dwarfs.

He appeared in court Friday and a trial date was set for Dec. 5.

In June, a Washington County deputy pulled Roloff over as he was driving on West Union Road.

Deputies said Roloff failed a field sobriety test and was arrested. He was taken to the Washington County Jail and cited on charges of DUII, refusing a breath test and failing to drive within a lane.

It was the second time Roloff had been linked to a driving under the influence charge. In 2003, he had a DUII charge dismissed after completing an alcohol diversion program.

Roloff and his family live on a farm in Helvetia, Ore.

The news site also has a video of Matt in court - for those interested.

[Update - 12/17/07]
Word has it on the TLC forums that the trial has been delayed until mid January, which explains why there has been no news about the outcome of the December 5th trial.

Download LPBW Episodes & Matt’s Chats On iTunes

Kevin November 12th, 2007

Have you ever missed an episode of the show, or wanted to download that one in particular you just loved - without paying for an entire season on DVD? iTunes makes it easier than ever to get your LPBW fix! You can download any episode you want, starting with the first season, for just $1.99 a show.

There are a few that aren’t available, such as the “Lost Episodes” aired during Season 3, and the specials at the end of Season 1 where the family looked back on the previous season and summarized their favorite memories. The regular season episodes are all there though. You can even watch a small preview of each show to help refresh your memory of what was shown on that episode. We have updated our episode guide with a link to the iTunes store for each show.

Also available for free, are several of “Matt’s Chats” video podcasts where he interviews other little people that have inspired him. Among the interviews are Chris Rutte of the LPO about teasing, psychiatrist and Hollywood actress Merideth Eaton, and R. Ernie Lee about the challenges little people face when they decide to become parents. You can download all of the podcasts here.

If you don’t have iTunes installed, you can download it here. Once you have it installed, clicking on any of the iTunes links will automatically open the iTunes store for that item. Happy downloading :)

Little People Big World Drinking Game

Kevin November 6th, 2007

Over on facebook, there are a few Little People Big World groups. I am a member of a couple of them, and came across a pretty hilarious discussion by one of the groups today where some people came up with an idea for a drinking game to play while watching the show.

I’ve never really thought of LPBW as the type of show to drink to, but some of these are pretty funny. I think most people would be completely hammered by the end of the show with these rules.

-everytime Matt is driving a machine, 1 drink
-if one of Jeremys friends pick up Zach, 2 drinks
-everytime Amy gets mad, one drink
-if Matt falls off(stool, machine, anything) finish your beer
-everytime molly hits Jacob, 1 drink
-if Matt is wearing a red sweater DRINK
-if they play soccer, take a sip
-if someone goes into a hospital, 2 drinks
-for every friend Jeremy has over, take a drink for each one
-everytime Zach rides his bike, drink
-any fight between any little people, 1 drink
-anytime Zach plays xbox drink for as long as he’s playing
-drink every time you think Jeremy and his girlfriend get it on after the cameras turn off
-everytime Zach smiles, 3 drinks.
-everytime Jeremy hugs his mom, 2 drinks.
-everytime Zach drives a car, finish your beer.
-everytime Amy tries and fails to wake Jeremy up in the morning, 2 drinks
-if Jeremy breaks something, 1 drink
-if Amy says she’s disappointed in Jeremy or yells at him, 2 drinks
-if Jeremy breaks something, 2 drinks
-if Jeremy is talking on his cell, 1 drink
-if Jeremy’s pants fall down, 1 drink
-if Jeremy can’t find his pants, 2 drinks
-if Jeremy or Zach are drinking mountain dew, 1 drink
-if Jeremy does something stupid like run on the roof, 2 drinks
-if Jeremy tells Jacob to get lost or Jacob talks about Jeremy telling him to get lost, 1 drink
-everytime Marty taunts or harasses Zach, 1 drink
-any scene that shows Zach with his mouth hanging half open, take a sip

What about you? Got any additions for the Little People Big World drinking game? Feel free to post any new ideas in the comments below.

Grasshogs Beat The Breakers

Kevin November 6th, 2007

For the past couple weeks, TLC has been building the rivalry between Zach’s soccer team “The Grasshogs” and the LA Breakers. Last week when they stopped by a Breakers practice on their road trip, Zach seemed pretty scared to face them again at the DAAA games. And then on tonight’s episodes, they continued it by showing Marty harassing Zach, and introducing his new recruit - a giant dwarf who’s been playing soccer for ten years.

So I was actually pretty pumped to see the outcome of the matchup between the Grasshogs and Breakers. I was so glad when the game ended and the Grasshogs won. I think it’s great that a team of underdogs who never even practice together can beat a team that plays together all the time, and completely dominates all the other sports. And did you see the interview with Zach after they’d won? You could tell it was the highlight of his life.

Way to go Zach and the rest of the Grasshogs!!

Tour Roloff Farms With Google Earth

Kevin November 5th, 2007

Always wanted to see the farm in person and take a tour? Well, we can’t all make it out to Oregon to see the farm, but thanks to Google Earth, you can take a self-guided tour.

You can drag the view around and get a birds eye view of not only the farm, but the surrounding landscape. It’s a lot of fun to zoom out and see where the farm is in perspective to the city.

Roloff Farms Dirt For Sale!

Kevin November 5th, 2007

Yes, you read that headline correct. For $8.00 + shipping, you can own a small piece of Roloff Farms. Just fill out the order form, and they will send you a jar full of dirt. But not just any old jar of dirt - just look at a few of the possible uses, as listed on the jar’s packaging:

• Use sparingly as an extra treat for your indoor house plants.

• Sprinkle some in your yard to inspire it with a little “country attitude”.

• Put some in the kitty box. Excellent for cats who don’t get outdoors.

• Rub some on your clothes for that “I just worked in the garden” feeling.

• Make a mud pie, “YUM!”

• Great gift idea for city folk.

Matt has always seemed like a great salesman on the show, but this just seals the deal. If he can convince people to pay money for dirt … well, that speaks for itself. I guess it’s kind of a neat souvenir if you’re a big fan of the show, but I wish the Roloffs would sign each jar or something.
